We're trying to expand No Elegy Needed
I hope you'll decide to be a part of it
Friends -
This is not a normal post that you’ll see, and my goal is to not send one out like it very often at all.
That being said…
I’m working to expand No Elegy Needed by bringing on a paid freelance contributor (or multiple depending on budget) to extend the scope of what is covered, and who is writing it.
To do that, I am hoping some of you will consider upgrading your subscription to one of the very modest paid subscriber tiers.
Monthly plan price: $5 a month
Annual plan price: $50 annually (heavily discounted from monthly)
Founding plan price: $500 (you can choose to have it be less, as long as its more than annual)1
I will keep you all periodically updated with the status of new contributors and other endeavors we plan to do with No Elegy.
No Elegy Needed will always remain free for all to read regardless. However, I love the idea of building this into a sustainable commentary outlet that focuses on Appalachia. To my knowledge, very few (if any, outside of this one) left-wing commentary publications exist focusing exclusively on Appalachia, and I want this to be the go-to source for that.
Solidarity forever,
Chuck
P.S. - Here is a pic of Big Dog begging for Moose Tracks ice cream
If you’re kind enough to become a founding member at this or a similar price, you will receive an official WV Mine Wars redneck bandana and my eternal gratitude

I would love to connect and talk to you about possibly contributing if and qhen you get to that point! The hills and hollers run deep in my blood and roots. I know Appalachia well.
